Heartgard Plus for dogs is an easy-to-administer, highly palatable real beef chewable treatment for heartworm prevention in puppies and dogs 6 weeks of age and older. This monthly oral treatment effectively prevents heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae (Dirofilaria immitis). Moreover, the Heartgard Plus chew for dogs treats and controls three species of hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma braziliense) and two species of roundworms (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina) in dogs for 30 days.

Heartgard Plus chews are safe for use in pregnant and breeding dogs. It can be used together with common dog treatments, including collars, dips, shampoos, anthelmintics, antibiotics, vaccines, etc.

How does Heartgard Plus for Dogs Work?

Heartgard Plus for dogs contains two powerful ingredients, ivermectin and pyrantel. Ivermectin effectively eliminates the tissue stage of heartworm larvae, thus preventing heartworm disease. Pyrantel treats and controls intestinal worm infestations caused by hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala & Ancylostoma braziliense) and roundworms (Toxocara canis & Toxascaris leonina) for a complete month.

Direction for use

• Administer directly or mix with a small amount of dog food.
• Give in a manner that encourages the dog to chew the treatment.
• Administer orally, preferably on the same date of each month.
• Administer the first dose within 30 days after the dog’s first exposure to mosquitoes.
• Give the last dose within 30 days after the dog’s last exposure to mosquitoes.
