Eqvalan Paste for Horses

Eqvalan Paste is an effective broad spectrum oral treatment for the infections caused by internal parasites, including bots, in horses. It is indicated for the treatment of parasitic infestations duet to strongyles (large and small), intestinal threadworms, pinworms, ascarids, hairworms, large-mouthed stomach worms, neck threadworms, and bots. The treatment is formulated using an active ingredient, ivermectin in a clean, white, homogeneous, ready-to-use paste in a disposable plastic syringe. Moreover, it may also aid in the clinical improvement of dermatoses caused by vector-borne parasites. It is a safe and suitable treatment for horses including, pregnant mare and breeding stallions.

How it works?

Eqvalan Paste contains Ivermectin, a member of the macrocyclic lactone class of endectocides which have a unique mode of action. Compounds in this family bind to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels found in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells with great affinity. This causes an increase in the permeability of the cell membrane to chloride ions, as well as hyperpolarization of the nerve or muscle cell, resulting in parasite paralysis and death.

Ingredients

Ivermectin 1.87%

Direction for use
  • Eqvalan is administered orally at the recommended dose of 200 µg ivermectin per kg of body weight.
  • Each syringe contains 120 mg of ivermectin, which is enough to treat 600 kg of body weight.
  • Each syringe plunger weight marking delivers enough paste to treat 100 kg of body weight.
  • Unlock the knurled ring by twisting it 1/4 turn to set the syringe plunger.
  • Slide the knurled ring along the plunger shaft until the arrow showing the specified weight indication on the plunger aligns with the notch on the ring.
  • To lock the knurled ring in place, rotate it 1/4 turn.
  • Remove the plastic cap from the nozzle's tip.
  • Make certain that there is no feed in the horse's mouth.
  • Insert the syringe into the interdental region of the horse's mouth.
  • Push the plunger all the way down, putting the drug at the base of the tongue.
  • After dosing, immediately raise the horse's head for a few seconds.
